Position: Mechanical Technical I

Number of post: 1
Reporting to: water production engineer
Duty station: Ihelele, Misungwi district

Qualifications: 

  • Holder of Diploma in mechanical engineering from a recognized technical college at least three(3) years working experience as a technician in fitting and turning works.
  • In service employees must possess the above qualifications and have at least 4 years working experience and a good track working record.

Duties and Responsibilities:
i. Carrying out inspections, maintenance and repair of machines, equipment and pumps complimenting job cards.
ii. Completing job card on inspections, maintenance and repair works machines.
iii. Keeping records of mechanical maintenance and fabrication works undertaken.
iv. Proper housekeeping of machine, equipment and pumps.
v. Undertaking preventive maintenance of machines and equipment.
vi. Perfuming any other duties as may be assigned by the production engineer.

TANROADS is a Semi - Autonomous Agency responsible for maintenance and development of Trunk and Regional Roads Network in Tanzania Mainland, implementation of roads safety and environmental measures, provision of advice on the strategic framework, policies and plans for the road sector. It is also mandated with a responsibility of conducting Axle Load Control Operation using Weighbridge.

The Regional Manager's Office TAN ROADS - Kigoma, on behalf of the Chief Executive , TANROADS, intends to recruit suitable qualified and competent Tanzanians to fill the following various vacancies in the Region on contract terms [Renewable subject to satisfactory performance] in order to improve effectiveness and efficiency in road Maintenance and axle load control operations in the Region.

  • Manages the Regional laboratory stores.

  • Works for and follows up opportunities to widen the public and private Sector customer base.
  • Prepares regular and ad hoc reports as required.
  • Perform such other related duties as may be assigned by Engineer from Time to time.

Position: Technician Grade II (One Post)

Reports to: Technical Manager

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintains water sources (bore holes, springs and catchments) and water tanks:
  • Regularly determines resource requirements for proper production of adequate water and sewerage services.
  • Establishes and maintains records of water production and treatment, sets minimum water levels in tanks.
  • Ensures security of the water sources, reservoirs and pump houses by making sure that only authorized persons are accessible to these sensitive points.
  • Establishes and maintains water pumps operation schedules.
  • Prepares reports on the performance trend of water sources, production and treatment targets.
  • Provides management information and statistics of actual performance trend versus the approved plans/target showing the gaps in performance and suggesting corrective measures in consultation with immediate Supervisor.
  • Assists in the preparation of daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports on raw and clean water levels, electricity consumption rates, human resource, water pollution level trends, water colour and the possible solutions adopted or to be applied.
  • Participates in Non-Revenue water (NRW) reduction works.
  • Performs other related duties as may be assigned by the immediate Supervisor.

Qualifications and Working Experience

  • Holder of an Ordinary Diploma or Full Technician Certificate (FTC) in Civil. Water Supply, Environmental Sanitation, Chemical Processing, Electrical Engineering.
  • He or she must be computer literate.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills in both English and Kiswahili.


Age limit
Age should be between 20 and 45 years.

Remuneration
According to IRUWASA Salary Scale - IWAS 4 = (500,000.00).

Laboratory Technician


Position: Laboratory Technician
Duty station: Arusha (1 post)
Reporting to: The Dispensary Head

Main Responsibilities
  Ensures Efficient Management of the Laboratory.
  To Provide Health Awareness and Screening on HIV/AIDS to the SOS Village and the    Surrounding Community.
  The Lab. Technician will be responsible for equipment and instrument update and inventory and protection
   He/she should be able to perform routine maintenance on equipment and quality control for all reagents
   Lab Technician will coordinate the all lab result and lab activities
   Perform, evaluate, and document quality control data and assure that patient results are not reported when quality control does not pass.

  Academic Qualifications and experiences.
   Diploma in Laboratories Technician from any Government recognized institution
   Should be well motivated and initiative.
   At least two years working experience preferably with NGO busy environment
   Training on HIV counseling is a must
   Computer literacy

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • · Ensures safe custody of laboratory equipment and supplies. 
  • · Prepares samples and equipment for use by Palynologists, Geochemists and Micropalaeontologists staff. 
  • · Assists in sample collection, packing and labeling. 
  • · Ensures that laboratory safety standards are strictly adhered to. 
  • · Organizes samples storage in secure places in collaboration with Geo-services company staff and catalogues the samples. 
  • · Maintains and reports on stock levels of supplies. 
  • · Perform preliminary analysis of samples towards age determinations using flora and fauna.
  • · Participates in field trips for geological work. 
  • · May be assigned well site duties to collect and label samples. 
  • · Ensure secure sample storage. 
  • · Performs any other related duties as may be assigned by superior from time to time. 


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENT 
Holder of a Diploma in Laboratory Technician from a recognized institution followed by at least 2 years post-qualification experience

Age limit Not more than 30 years. 
REMUNERATION: 
· According to TPDC Scheme of service in the salary scale of TPDC- GS 4
